Finnish Goshawks |
The '09 season was a very good year for us as again we produced some very good quality Gos's. We exported to France, Spain, Holland, Belgium and the home Nations and still managed to hold back some breeding stock. We also brought in some new blood lines for the 2010 season, so all going well this year it should be as good if not better. We are very much looking to have success with the new lines to see what they may produce as they are large, have great conformation and from good hunting stock. |
09 male and female Finnish goshawks all now hunting very well |
'09 Finnish male owned and flown by Wouter in Belgium |
Two '09 Finnish females - the light bird on the left was 3lbs 2oz and the bird on right was 3lbs 4oz fat avery weight |
We had a great time hunting with Finn our pure Finnish Goshawk this year with his hunting weight slightly increasing to 1lbs 11 1/2ozs he faired well, his total bag for the season grossed 67 head including rabbits, pheasants, partridge, magpies and one woodpigeon. In 2008 Finn was retired from hunting and put into our breeding programme. |
Finn produced two females last year, he fertilized all four eggs with one dying in the egg and the other as a day old,his mate was a wild disabled German import. I was very pleased with his performance as Finn is only three and this was his first attempt at breeding. |
The two female's Finn produced turned out to be very nice 50/50 Finnish x German with flying weights of 2lb 4 oz. I think you get good value for money and with the female being wild disabled there is the added knowledge that the blood line has not been interferred with. We are now taking orders from this pair as we are with our other pairs of pure Finnish Goshawks please don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested. |
